Zero new Covid-19 cases, recoveries recorded in Sarawak

KUCHING, Sept 1: No new Covid-19 cases were reported in Sarawak today, thus maintaining the state’s tally of cases at 699.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement disclosed that only one cluster remains active in Sarawak which is the Alam Cluster in Bintulu with eight cases.

There were also no recoveries and discharges recorded today and as such, the total number of recovered patients in Sarawak is maintained at 663 or 94.85 per cent of total positive cases so far.

As of today, two districts are still categorised as Covid-19 yellow zones (with less than 40 cases), namely Kuching and Bintulu.

A total of 17 patients are still receiving treatment in hospitals throughout the state with none admitted to Intensive Care Units (ICU) or requiring respiratory support.

There are 11 patients treated in Bintulu Hospital, while five are in SGH and one in Miri Hospital.

Sarawak also reported 24 more Persons-Under-Investigation (PUI) with no cases pending laboratory test results.

Additionally, 101 Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) have been checked into selected hotels to undergo quarantines.

As of today, there are a total number of 702 individuals undergoing quarantine in 14 hotels throughout the state. — DayakDaily
