KUCHING, May 17: Today marked the fourth consecutive day with no new positive cases of Covid-19 reported in Sarawak while seven person-under-investigation (PUI) cases were recorded.
State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement revealed that with no new cases reported today, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remained at 544.
However, it noted that there were seven new PUI cases while 29 PUI cases are awaiting laboratory results.
The committee also disclosed that there were four patients who have recovered from Covid-19 and were discharged from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) today.
Meanwhile, SDMC revealed it has coordinated the arrival of 6,331 students from institutions of higher education returning from Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Labuan.
It has also coordinated 1,702 students’ return to their respective hometowns in Sarawak.
On the Sarawak Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), SDMC has received 4,944 applications today for inter-district travel from 28 police stations.
The cumulative number of applications so far is 26,992, of which 25,237 applications were approved while 1,755 were rejected.
SDMC also revealed it has received 27,740 notifications from businesses to resume operations.
From that total, 20,400 were received online and 7,500 through email. — DayakDaily
