KUCHING, Dec 6: UMNO vice-president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who allegedly suppressed the voice ‘Sarawak for Sarawakian’ (S4S) is a fascist and unfit to be the national leader, says Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How.

See said Zahid’s recent statement on S4S had shown that the federal government is not sincere on issues related to Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), devolution of power and autonomy of the state.

Zahid, who is also the country’s deputy prime minister and Home Minister, had said those who ‘play with fire’ by attempting to instigate the people using the slogan ‘Sabah for the Sabahans’ and ‘Sarawak for the Sarawakians’ will face stern action.

Zahid said during the opening of general assembly for the UMNO Youth, Women and Puteri wings that the action by the East Malaysian groups concerned to instigate the people using the slogans was very much against the Federal Constitution.

See was disappointed that Zahid’s statement came merely two weeks after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s assurance that those who talked about MA63 would not be put under ISA.

“S4S campaigns on Sarawak’s entitlement under MA63 and Referendum for Sarawak, rightful claims of Sabah and Sarawak in Malaysia and there is nothing wrong with it.

“But Zahid said S4S is advocating secession, which I don’t think S4S had mentioned anything on this,” See told a press conference today.

See, who is also state PKR vice-president, said Zahid wanted to suppress the voices of S4S and is unfit to be the deputy prime minister.

“That kind of national leader is not acceptable. It shows that UMNO is really fascist and they want to be in control of everything in Malaysia.

“It shows that UMNO is trying to be dominant over all Malaysians in Malaysia; that is very wrong,” said See, adding that Malaysia should be shared by everybody in Malaysia and not just UMNO. — Dayak Daily
