SIBU, Oct 26: A 13-year-old boy was found drowned while swimming with friends in Sibu Jaya Lake, today.
According to a statement from the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation center, the victim, Muhammad Aidil who is from Lorong 6A, Sibu Jaya, was swimming in Sibu Jaya lake with his friends at about 11am this morning.
Bomba Call Centre however, received the report of a drowning case at 12.34pm today, a Fast Response Team (FRT) and personnel from Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) from Bomba Sibu were quickly deployed to the scene.
A Search and Rescue (SAR) operation was conducted using water surface searching in the lake.
With the help of the public, Bomba successfully found the victim’s body in the lake which was later handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
