SERIAN, Nov 17: A 27-year-old motorcyclist dies in a freaky but tragic road accident involving his motorcycle and three other vehicles at Jalan Kuching-Serian yesterday.
The deceased who was identified as Augustine Adailton Deai from Kampung Peraya, died on the scene, due to severe head and body injuries, as confirmed by the paramedic.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the incident involved a motorcycle, a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), a sedan car and a lorry occurred at 8.30pm.
“A sedan vehicle was traveling from Serian to Kuching and was rear-ended by the deceased’s motorcycle who was also heading in the same direction.
“The deceased hit the sedan car in front. Due to the impact, the deceased was thrown from his motorcycle to the other side of the road but was hit by a MPV which was travelling from Kuching to Serian, before his motorcycle was dragged under a lorry,” said Allison in a statement yesterday.
Alexson said all other drivers involved in the accident were unharmed.
The remains of the deceased was taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further action and the case is being investigate under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
