SAMARAHAN, Feb 10: Yayasan Petronas, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of national oil corporation Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) recently donated food supplies and personal hygiene care packages to 250 less privileged families here in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year (CNY) celebrations.

The contributions which include rice, cooking oil, sugar, canned food, dry food, salt, eggs, flour, biscuits, malt drinks, face masks and hand sanitisers were distributed by Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) on behalf of Petronas to the recipients.

Petronas Sarawak general manager, Zulaihi M Mantali in a press statement today said: “We want to share the joy of CNY with the less fortunate and less privileged members of our society who understandably are the hardest hit by the on-going Covid-19 pandemic.

“It is our hope that these contributions will enable them to celebrate the upcoming CNY in a more meaningful way,” he said.

Each year, in conjunction with major celebrations in Malaysia, Yayasan Petronas extends necessities aimed at improving the well-being of communities.

The intent of the Sentuhan Kasih Festive programme is to foster a memorable celebration for the less fortunate during the festive seasons to spur joy, love and care.

The Sentuhan Kasih programme is part of Yayasan Petronas’ community well-being and development focus area.

The programme is also in line with the Petronas Sustainability Agenda and the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals. —DayakDaily
