KUCHING, June 15: Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera (Yayasan Peneraju) and Petrosains are collaborating to boost digital knowledge among young Sarawakians through an innovative digital enhancement programme.
Yayasan Peneraju in a statement today said the collaboration aims to equip Sarawakian youths with basic digital skills and enable them to acquire the skills needed for the 21st century job market.
According to Petrosains Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Ezarisma Azni Mohamad, they are very pleased to collaborate with Yayasan Peneraju through this programme.
“This kind of collaboration should continue to help build a generation that is aware of science and technology and innovates, which can contribute to the development of the 4IR landscape in Malaysia.
“This is in line with the country’s vision to develop a dynamic and efficient digital economy,” he said.
The programme, titled ‘Peneraju Skil Aspirasi: Digital Upskilling 2023′, will provide comprehensive modules and workshops specially designed to enhance participants’ knowledge and capabilities in various technological and digital domains.
This program is offered free of charge and is open to school leavers between the ages of 17-21 and participants will learn the basics of coding and robotics that include their applications and uses as well as exposure to jobs in the technology and digital fields.
Three workshops are offered under this program which will start in Kuching on June 18 to 22 , then in Miri on Aug 21 to 26, and end in Sibu on Sept 11 to 16.
