KUCHING, May 4: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Kota Sentosa branch chairman Wilfred Yap is appealing to Kota Sentosa assemblyman Chong Chieng Jen to assist in applying for development funds from the State and federal governments to upgrade the infrastructure at Kota Sentosa constituency for the benefit of its community.

Yap in a statement today said he recently monitored the upgrading and resurfacing works at 7th Mile Main Bazaar and Jalan Liu Shang Bang to ensure that the works were properly carried out by the contractor of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).

He disclosed that the total cost of the upgrading works amounted to RM166,000.

“During the regular inspection activity at 7th Mile area, we were constantly approached by residents to request MPP to carry out upgrading works to infrastructure facilities like drains and roads.

“Such requests for assistance are always immediately communicated to MPP for their action,” he said.

Yap, who is also SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) chief said he will continue to serve as the voice of the community living in Kota Sentosa and will continue to try his best to fight for more development funding for the benefit of the business community and residents in the area.

He added SUPP PCB is always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone facing problems or those who come across problems of public interest but do not know how to deal with it.

He urged complainants to contact SUPP Public Complaint’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or go directly to SUPP Head Office for assistance. — DayakDaily
