KUCHING, April 14: SUPP Kota Sentosa branch chairman Wilfred Yap called for Sarawakians to rally behind and support the GPS government during the upcoming PRN12.

Yap in a statement today said Sarawakians must stay united under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) to enable the government to fight for the State’s rights, speak with a common goal and work towards for a modern and fully developed Sarawak.

He also reminded Sarawakians not to be misled by opposition political parties with empty promises and unproductive rhetoric which he labelled as a ploy to fish for support during the 12th State Election (PRN12).

In the meantime, Yap, who is also Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau chief recently went to inspect and monitor the road resurfacing works at Taman Olive, 7th Mile to ensure that the resurfacing works were carried out properly by the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) contractor.

He explained that the resurfacing works were carried out after requests were made by the residents there.

Yap said he is constantly approached by residents in Kota Sentosa seeking his assistance to request the local council to carry out improvement and repair works to damaged infrastructure and facilities like burst water pipes, drains and roads during his walkabout there.

He explained that such requests for assistance were always immediately communicated to the relevant authority for the improvement and repair works to settle such problems.

Yap said he will continue to serve as the eyes and ears of the community living in Kota Sentosa to ensure that infrastructure and facilities are in good condition and properly maintained.

Meanwhile, he added, SUPP Public Complaints Bureau is always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone facing problems or comes across problems of public interest but does not know how to deal with it.

Those requiring assistance may contact SUPP Public Complaint at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or go directly to the SUPP Head Office here to request for assistance. — DayakDaily
