Yap calls on Malaysians to recommit to Malaysian Family concept in conjunction with Malaysia Day celebration

KUCHING, Sept 15: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Kota Sentosa chairman Wilfred Yap calls on Malaysians to recommit themselves to the Malaysian Family concept with emphasis on the spirit of Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) as envisaged by the founding fathers.

In conjunction with the Malaysia Day celebration tomorrow (Sep 16), he called on Malaysians to enhance the spirit of patriotism and truly love Malaysia.

“Even though Malaysia Day this year falls amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, we must remember that it is only through unity, harmony and understanding among the people of Sarawak, Sabah and Malaya that we are bound together as one people.


“Sarawakians pride themselves on being a uniquely harmonious and multiracial society (sic).

“However, maintaining racial and religious harmony is a continuous process and needs to be continuous refreshed, reaffirmed and reinforced,” he said in a statement.

At the same time, Yap who is also SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) chief called on Malaysians to be sensitive towards the feelings of all segments of society comprising diverse communities, and to never forget the present social and religious harmony which are derived from mutual understanding and compromise by all stakeholders. — DayakDaily
