KUCHING, June 10: The Raminway Recreational Club in collaboration with Yayasan Pengguna Negara Malaysia (YPNM) Sarawak will organise an event titled ‘World of Manga Expo’ at Aeroville Mall here from June 16 to 25.
Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap said the event, which serves as a platform to gather anime, cosplay and gaming (ACG) enthusiasts, aims to recognise the importance of fostering creativity, self-expression and cultural appreciation.
“We hope that people will attend this inaugural event and look forward to similar events in the future,” he said at a press conference at Kota Sentosa Service Centre here yesterday.
The event will showcase mural art by artist Aries Kong or ‘JAGUNG’, cosplayers from Sibu and Miri, cosplay competitions, performances and meet-and-greet sessions with renowned cosplayers.
For collectors and avid fans of ACG, the event will also feature a treasure trove of premium collectibles where attendees have the chance to explore a wide range of limited-edition figurines, exclusive artwork and rare figures by a collector who is willing to share his collection.
At the same time, gamers can engage in multiplayer competitions and experience virtual reality setup in the gaming zone during the event.
