KUCHING, April 15: Works Minister and Kapit Member of Parliament Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi has issued a public warning over the existence of fake social media accounts misusing his name and identity.

In a statement shared on his official communication channel, Nanta said he had taken note of several impersonation accounts circulating on social media platforms, which he stressed were not affiliated with him in any way.

He strongly denied any connection to the accounts and expressed concern that such irresponsible actions could create confusion among the public and potentially be used to mislead users.

“I hereby deny any association with such accounts and deeply regret the actions of irresponsible parties that may cause confusion and potentially mislead the public,” he said in a post yesterday (April 14).

Nanta advised social media users to verify information carefully and avoid engaging with or trusting content from unauthorised profiles. He urged the public to rely only on his verified official account at https://www.instagram.com/alexandernantalinggi.

He also encouraged users to report suspicious accounts to the respective platforms and to help spread awareness of the warning in order to prevent misinformation. — DayakDaily
