KUCHING, Oct 3: Construction has commenced on the RM10 million Sarawak government funded Batu Kawah Riverbank project at Kampung Sinar Budi Lama.

According to Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, the project, which is located on the opposite bank of the current Batu Kawa Riverbank Park, finally started following a successful open tender bid by the contractor with the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) as the implementing agency.

“All these riverbank developments are not just about living with nature, but also upgrading the community living environment and atmosphere,” said Dr. Sim in a Facebook post, yesterday.

Dr Sim gave assurance that he will continue to source for funding for lighting decorations as the final project for all the various phases of infrastructure projects once completed. — DayakDaily
