KUCHING, Feb 19: DAP Padungan assemblyman Wong King Wei has been appointed the new chairman of Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board (LPKP) Sarawak.
Minister of Transport Anthony Loke announced in a media statement today, that Wong’s appointment for the period of two years is effective from Jan 30, 2020 until Jan 29, 2022.
Wong took over the position from Dr Lawrence Tsue who tendered his resignation on Dec 1, 2019.
The appointment was in accordance with Article 6 under Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board Act 1987 (Act 334).
LPKP Sarawak, Loke emphasised, is a key agency under the ministry responsible for regulating the commercial vehicles and land public transport in Sarawak.
The Ministry of Transport, he assured, will continue to support the development of land transport in Sarawak in line with the National Transport Policy 2019-2030. — DayakDaily
