KUCHING, Jan 8: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s inclusive leadership, celebrated on his 8th anniversary in office, ensures vulnerable groups such as women, children, and rural communities are not left behind in the State’s progress.

Sarawak Minister of Women, Early Childhood Development, and Community Wellbeing (KWPK) Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said Abang Johari’s policies have had a far-reaching impact on Sarawak’s social development growth.

“Initiatives from cradle to grave, such as the Endowment Fund Sarawak (EFS), Post-Natal Assistance (BIB), Special Annual Grant (GTK) to Early Childhood Education Institutions (IPAKK), Special Assistance for Kidney Patients, Senior Citizen Health Benefit (SCHB), and Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Contribution (SKAS), demonstrate a direct investment in the wellbeing of Sarawakians.

“Improved infrastructure has become a catalyst for improved access for rural children to a solid foundation for formal education through Early Childhood Education. It has also enhanced women’s empowerment through better economic opportunities,” she said in a statement today.

She further noted that one of the Premier’s standout achievements is the implementation of the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030, which embeds inclusivity into Sarawak’s growth agenda, addressing key issues such as poverty alleviation, gender equality, and community resilience while paving the way for sustainable development.

“What truly sets the Premier apart is his vision for equity and social harmony, creating a prosperous Sarawak where development benefits all.

“His innovative financial strategies ensure sustained support for impactful initiatives, leaving a legacy of sustainable wellbeing for every Sarawakian,” she added. – DayakDaily
