Woman with toddler robbed at knifepoint in “terrifying ordeal”

MIRI, July 9: A woman carrying her one-year-old son was robbed at knifepoint in front of a bank at Jalan Boulevard, here, on Monday evening.

According to police report, the victim was walking towards the automated teller machine (ATM) from her parked car, when she was approached by a man wearing a full face helmet from behind.


Threatening her with a sharp object, the suspect was understood to have said “give me your money”, before grabbing the victim’s wallet containing cash amounting to RM800.

Despite her terrifying ordeal, fortunately the victim and her son were unharmed in the 9pm incident, as the suspect immediately fled the scene after taking the cash.

She lodged a report at the Miri Central Police Station the same evening. — DayakDaily
