Woman pinned, injured after car slams into bulldozer at Kota Samarahan ART construction site

KUCHING, Aug 24: A woman was injured after the car she was driving crashed into a bulldozer parked in front of Samarahan Country Club in Kota Samarahan early this morning.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Operations Centre (PGO), in the 4.18am incident, a Toyota Vios carrying two individuals is believed to have rammed into the bulldozer stationed at the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) route construction site.

“The female driver was pinned to the front seat and sustained open wounds on her left knee and thigh, while the male passenger was unhurt and managed to get out on his own.

“Kota Samarahan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) received the emergency call at 4.18am and arrived at the location at 4.31am,” the statement said in a report by TVS.

A total of seven firefighters with one FRT engine were deployed under the command of PBK II Awgku Ahmad.

The rescue team used special equipment to extricate the pinned victim before handing her over to the Civil Defence Force (APM) ambulance team for further treatment.

After ensuring the area was free from fire hazards and conducting clean-up works, the operation was declared fully completed at 5.10am. — DayakDaily
