The incident occurred on Nov 18 at around 11.30am, when the accused confronted her 21-year-old nephew.

According to case facts, she became angry after he mocked her over a missing mobile phone.

The nephew had teased her for not having the device, prompting her to swing a machete at him. Although the blow was blocked, he sustained a minor cut on his little finger.

Investigations revealed that the accused had left her phone in an e-hailing vehicle earlier that day. When her nephew retrieved the device from the driver, he initially refused to return it, which further escalated tensions between them.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Aidil Akmal Sharidan prosecuted the case, while the accused appeared unrepresented. — DayakDaily
