West Kalimantan Governor: Let there be more working visits between Sarawak, West Kalimantan

KUCHING, Jan 12: Business communities in Sarawak and West Kalimantan, Indonesia are encouraged to organise regular working visits to promote better rapport and bilateral relations.

Governor of West Kalimantan province, Indonesia, His Excellency Dr. Harisson, M.K. said there are a host of benefits in establishing good bilateral trade and business relations which may include opening of new markets for the business communities to enhance economic opportunities and strengthen trade relations.

“There are a lot of business opportunities to be explored and we welcome the business communities from Sarawak to venture here in West Kalimantan,” said Dr Harisson whose text speech was read by West Kalimantan’s Head of Provincial Communications Drs Ignatius IK when representing former during the welcoming dinner held in conjunction with the working visit by Sarawak-based company BMAS Holdings Sdn Bhd to Pontianak in West Kalimantan from Jan 8 to 12.


Meanwhile, the founder and executive chairman of BMAS Holdings Sdn Bhd Anderson Dato Paran in his welcoming speech expressed their intention to expand business operations to major cities in West Kalimantan especially in the new capital city of Nusantara.

He said one of the group’s subsidiaries, Borneo MA Smart Vendors Sdn Bhd (MAS), which deals with vending machine business, had already established its branches in Kuching, Sibu, Miri, Bintulu and in Kota Kinabalu in Sabah over the past two years.

The week-long working visit to Pontianak and other parts of West Kalimantan is part of the company’s efforts to explore smart partnerships with others in Borneo region which are expected boost its regional business operations in the near future. – DayakDaily
