KUCHING, Aug 16: A wellness centre with special oxygen therapy is among the development plans for the upgrading of the Damai area in Santubong here.

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg shared that during his recent visit to Budapest, Hungary, he visited a wellness centre owned by a medical doctor that uses a special wellness machine with oxygen-based therapy.

“The water (used) is oxygen, and this oxygen will reinstate your energy and can fight diseases including cancer.

“I understand that they have one (similar wellness centre) in The Starhill, Kuala Lumpur. And we are going to have this wellness centre also in Damai,” he said when gracing the Malaysia Association of Hotels (MAH) Dinner held at Hilton Hotel here last night (Aug 15).

Abang Johari also mentioned that the private sector would construct two international hotels in Sematan.

“With these infrastructures, we can attract medical tourism as well as prime tourists,” he added. — DayakDaily
