‘We will do our best’, Minister on the ground assessing flood situation, pledges assistance

BINTULU, Jan 29: Malaysian Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Dato Sri Tiong King Sing has assured flood victims of his commitment to providing aid as he personally assessed the flood situation in Bintulu.

In a Facebook post today, Tiong, who is also the Bintulu Member of Parliament (MP), shared photos of himself wading through floodwaters on a boat while clad in a yellow raincoat, highlighting the severity of the situation.

“In this difficult time, let’s support and help each other. My team and I, along with all relevant agencies, will do our best to assist everyone.

“Stay strong, all my dearest friends. I know it’s tough. Hang in there,” he wrote.

With floodwaters submerging several areas, authorities and volunteers have been mobilised to carry out relief efforts, including evacuations and aid distribution. — DayakDaily
