KUCHING, Sept 23: Repair works on the damaged 600mm DI pipeline at Jalan Canna here have been extended until 11.30am today.
This was stated in a notice issued by Sarawak Water on their Facebook page earlier this morning.
A coffee shop operator at TT3 said that the water disruption forced him to buy bottled mineral water to keep his business running. He also observed that some students in the area stayed home from school.
In a previous notice, repair works on the damaged pipeline commenced at 9.30pm last night (Sept 22) and were estimated to end by 6.30am today.
The affected areas are Jalan Stutong, Jalan Saradise, Jalan BDC, Jalan Canna, Jalan Keranji, Jalan Bayor Bukit, Jalan Urat Mata, Jalan Wan Alwi, Jalan Song, Jalan Muara Tabuan, Jalan Setia Raja, Jalan Kedandi, Jalan Stutong Jaya, Jalan Usahajaya, Tabuan Park, Tabuan Tranquility, The Northbank, Stutong Indah, Emart Tabuan Jaya, Premier Food Republic, TT3 Food Court, Tabuan Jaya Police Complex, Tabuan Jaya Kastam, Stutong Market, Stutong Commercial Centre, Tabuan Desa, Tabuan Dusun, Tabuan Laru, Taman Rimba, Taman Rimba Sama Jaya, Jalan Samarahan Expressway, and the surrounding areas.
These areas are expected to experience low or no water supply, and a water tanker has been mobilised.
“Road users are advised to exercise caution when driving on this road during the period of this repair work and to comply with all traffic management for safety and regulations,” said Sarawak Water.
