BINTULU, Sept 1: Installation works of a new power cable at Nyabau Water Treatment Plant are expected to cause water supply interruption in several areas in Bintulu including the Kidurong Club, the Bintulu Airport, Bintulu town and residential areas along major roads.
The installation works will be carried out on Sept 5, 2023 from 12 midnight to 6am in the morning.
Laku Management Sdn Bhd (Laku) issued an advisory warning that residents in the following areas may experience low water pressure
The affected areas include the Kidurong Club, the Bintulu Airport, Masjid Bintulu, BDA HQ, RPR Bandaria Park, Bintulu town Area, Jepak Area, Nyigu Area, Kampung Baru Area, UPM, IKM and ADTEC.
Schools and educational institutions affected are SMK Bintulu, SMK Bandar Bintulu, SMK Baru, SMKM Siong Boon, SMK Kemena, SJK Chung Hua No.2, SJK Chung Hua, SJK Sebiew Chinese, SK Kampung Baru, SK Bintulu, SK Kampung Jepak, SK Assyakirin, SK St. Anthony, SK Sungai Tisang and SK Kem Batu 18.
Rural Water Supply Departments of Ulu Sebauh and Kuala Tatau are also not spared.
All areas along Jalan Bintulu/Miri, Jalan Tun Hussain On, Jalan Bintulu/Sibu, Jalan Sibiyu, Jalan Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi, Jalan Kemena, Jalan Keppel, Jalan Abang Galau will also be impacted.
“We kindly advise consumers to store an adequate supply of water to meet their needs during the installation period.
“In the event of unfavorable weather conditions, the maintenance works will be carried out on the following working day at the same time.
“We apologize for any inconvenience caused and assure you that we will make every effort to minimize the duration of the disruption,” said Laku. — DayakDaily
