KUCHING, Oct 28: Apart from watching ‘lumba perahu’ (boat races), visitors could also enjoy various food or shop craft products at the Sarawak Regatta-Kuching Waterfront Festival 2023, which commenced yesterday (Oct 27) and will run until Nov 5.
Taking place at Kuching Waterfront here, the event featured Sarawak Kitchen and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (PMKS) Stall Sales, which would operate from 8.30am to 10pm throughout the festival period.
About 50 stalls are operating, with dining areas made available for visitors who wish to enjoy their food on the spot.
Additionally, various activities will be held concurrently on the Sarawak Kitchen stage, including karaoke competitions, children’s fashion shows, fruit-eating competitions, fruit-eating campaigns, quizzes, lucky coupon draws, make-up demos and practicals, cooking demos and mini science show by PETRONAS.
On the other hand, there is another exclusive site named Borneo Textile Craft Festival (FKTB) 2023, which houses about 121 entrepreneurs selling craft products, conducting demos and exhibitions apart from buskers’ performances.
The Craft Festival would be open from 10am to 10pm.
Today, the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, was present to officiate the eye-dotting and opening ceremony of Sarawak Regatta. Afterwards, he took a tour of both the Sarawak Kitchen and the Craft Festival sites.
On Oct 3, DayakDaily reported that this year’s Sarawak Regatta would showcase the Sarawak International Dragon Boat Regatta from Oct 27 to Oct 29, while the Sarawak Regatta Boat Race would commence from Nov 3 to Nov 5. — DayakDaily
