SERIAN, August 14: A 250kg crocodile was found snagged at the end of a fishing line by local villagers at Mile 35, Jalan Berjaya-Serian this morning.
According to Fire and Rescue (Bomba) department’s operations centre (PGO), they received the emergency call at 8.38pm about the discovery of the reptile.
Upon arrival, seven firefighters conducted a ‘size up’, while taking into consideration the public and their own safety.
They used ropes and a ‘running bowline’ technique to capture the 3-metre-long crocodile before pulling it on shore.
The reptile was later handed over to Sarawak Forestry Department. — DayakDaily
