MIRI, July 12: A total 233 villagers from two longhouses in the Subis district were cut off from their homes as floodwaters inundated the main road following continuous rain since early this week.
The floods affected 29-door Rumah Akit @Chaluk (81 villagers) and 152 villagers from Rumah Webster Rangkong Jalan Suai (41-door).
The Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) disaster management committee secretriat said no evacuations have been made so far as the situation is still under control.

However, villagers were advised to remained vigilant and to evacuate to higher ground if need be.
