There were others who expressed worries of a possible thunderstorm after parts of Sibu town suffered great damage following heavy thunderstorms and high winds that uprooted trees, tore off roofing and cut off power to many yesterday evening (April 5).

“Those selling in the bazaar must be prepared..like Sibu yesterday,” one netizen wrote.

“Hopefully there won’t be havoc like Sibu. Strong wind and rain. A lot of roofing was blown away and trees fell,” another commented.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning at 12.20pm for thunderstorms and heavy rain expected to hit Miri and Limbang until 3pm today. — DayakDaily
