Vacancies galore at Datuk Sebastian’s 2022 Education, Career and Entrepreneur fair

KUCHING, July 30: A total of job 2,562 vacancies are available at the ‘Datuk Sebastian’s 2022 Education, Career and Entrepreneur’ fair in Miri.

In disclosing this, Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew said 17 companies from various sectors such as hotels, oil and gas, managerial work and many others took part in the event.

“Our Career Fair which we are holding in collaboration with Social Security Organisation (Perkeso), is also doing a tremendous effort to assist Mirians and Sarawakians,” said Ting in his speech at the launch of the fair at Meritz Hotel in Miri today.

Ting disclosed that a total of 13 agencies and banks also took part to offer their assistance to local businesses.

He said among the banks are Agrobank, Credit Guarantee Corporation (CGC), Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), and Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC).

“Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Martrade) is among us here to help in case anyone of our local entrepreneurs want to export their products to the international market,” he added.

Ting, who is Piasau assemblyman, pointed out that around 25 institutes of higher learning from both the public and private sectors are also taking part in the fair to enable local students to explore available options to pursue their studies.

He said they have also invited Yayasan Sarawak and National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) to provide information to the students about financial aid.

“Miri Education District Office (PPD) is also here to offer consultation services to the students so these young men and ladies will be more informed in making their decisions,” he said.

The two-day fair, which will run until tomorrow is currently being held at Level 7, Meritz Hotel Miri. — DayakDaily
