UTS, in a statement today, said the accolade is a significant milestone for UTS, aligning with the university’s vision to be a global technical university founded on science and technology.

The award was specifically bestowed upon UTS due to the success of its innovative Bachelor of Technology Management programme, which uniquely combines technology management education with TVET (technical and vocational education and training) courses.

“This programme has distinguished UTS as a leader in providing industry-relevant skills and knowledge, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of the modern workforce,” said the press release.

In his acceptance speech, Khairuddin highlighted the importance of this recognition not only for the university but also for the broader community it serves.

“UTS is the only homegrown TVET university in Sarawak, and we are immensely proud to be acknowledged for our commitment to excellence in education and skills development.

“Being recognised by the Department of Skills Development further underscores our dedication to providing high-quality education that meets national standards,” he said. — DayakDaily
