MIRI, Sept 12: An ‘uninvited’ guest weighing about 3kg was discovered coiling up in front of the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) office in Krokop, here, this morning.

Perhaps the ‘guest’ was too early, as it was only 6.50am and not yet within the office hours for any Rela officers to entertain.

However, its presence stunned patrons of an eatery premise next door, who later called the Civil Defence Force (APM).

Three APM personnel rushed to the scene after receiving the call of the python sighting and it took them less than 20 minutes to secure the area. No injuries were reported.

Prior to the discovery, a 49-year-old man, on his way for breakfast at the eatery, spotted “something” amiss moving in front of the Rela office, which turned out to be that of a two-meter long snake. — DayakDaily
