KOTA SAMARAHAN, Nov 4: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who also serves as Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas), today officiated the third session of the university’s 29th Convocation Ceremony and presented scrolls to 575 graduates at the Dewan Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra (DeTAR) Hall.
Out of the total, 255 graduates were from the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FACA) while 320 were from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT).
The ceremony also saw the presentation of the Yayasan Sarawak Excellent Graduate Award 2025 to two outstanding recipients, who each received RM2,000.
The Bumiputera category award was presented to Scholastica Antonia Steven, a Bachelor of Nursing graduate who made the Dean’s List eight times and attained a CGPA of 3.82.
Meanwhile, the Non-Bumiputera category went to Natalie Sia Xin Ying, a Bachelor of Software Engineering graduate who made the Dean’s List seven times with a perfect CGPA of 4.00.

Both recipients were recognised for their consistent academic excellence and contributions throughout their studies. — DayakDaily
