Unifor hands over RM1 million allocation to 41 BEM churches in Lawas and Trusan

KUCHING, Dec 11: The Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) handed over RM1 million to 41 Borneo Evangelical Mission (BEM) churches in Lawas and Trusan.

According to a report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, the allocation was handed over by Unifor director Richard Lon to the representatives of the churches during the handing over ceremony held in Kampung Long Segaman and BEM Church in Long Segaman yesterday.

“To date, Unifor has received an allocation of RM150 million, including about RM500 million of applications from various religious bodies in the State.

“All these applications will be given due consideration according to priority, and none of which will be set aside,” said Richard in his speech during the handing over ceremony.

Earlier on, Richard also went to inspect the condition of a few church buildings and a Chinese temple in Lawas. ― DayakDaily
