SIBU, March 26 : A crocodile measuring about six feet long was successfully caught by firefighters, after appearing in front of a coffee shop in Jalan Igan, Sungai Merah here, today
Sibu Zone 4 Fire and Rescue Station chief Andy Alie said the department was informed by the public about the crocodile at 11.56am and a team of firefighters were subsequently deployed to the scene.
“A crocodile estimated to be six feet long was seen on the main road.
“The reptile was captured using canvas and rope, before being tied up and brought back to the Sungai Merah Station to be handed over to the Sarawak Forestry Department,” he said.
News of the crocodile’s appearance has gone viral on social media and shocked local residents who were passing by on the road at the time. — DayakDaily
