KUCHING, Nov 8: A 16-year-old boy who pleaded guilty to raping an underage girl was yesterday ordered to be sent to Tunas Bakti School here for three years.
The accused pleaded guilty to the offence on Oct 16 this year, but sentencing was deferred till today as he was underaged.
Magistrate Faelly Jeffrey Lanjungan made the decision after a welfare officer tendered the accused’s probation report to the court today.
The accused was charged under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code for raping the 14-year-old girl on Sept 15 this year at Kampung Haji Baki.
According to the facts of the case, the victim’s father went to the police when he discovered that his daughter was five weeks pregnant upon checking by a medical officer at Charles Brooke Hospital. — DayakDaily
