BELAGA, Sept 11: Uma Nyaving longhouse in Long Mejawah Sungai Asap went up in flames around 8am this morning.
According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a team of firefighters from Belaga Fire Station (BBP) was despatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the firefighters found that the two-storey, 15-door Orang Ulu longhouse was already destroyed.
At the time of writing, the firefighters are reported to be still conducting overhaul works at the scene.
Bomba also shared two videos from onlookers recording the fire unfolding, with one man seen extinguishing the fire using a water hose while another attempted to break the roof to stop the fire from spreading through the attic.
