Uggah presents grants of RM130,000 for construction, repairs work in 3 churches

KUCHING, March 12: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas today presented a total of RM130,000 worth of grants to assist in the construction and repairs work in three churches in Sibu and Limbang.

According to Uggah, who is also Minister in charge of the Unit For Other Religions (Unifor), in a press statement today, churches are the new Tanjung Latap Methodist Iban Church and Rantau Panjai Methodist Iban Church in Sibu, and Borneo Evangelical Mission (BEM) church in Long Sepangeh, Limbang.

He said the state assemblyman for Batu Danau Paulus Palu Gumbang received a cheque worth RM50,000 for the repairs work of the pastor house in BEM church in Long Sepangeh.

Uggah, who is also Minister of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development (Manred) presented the cheque to Paulus during a simple ceremony held at Manred office in Petra Jaya here.

He added a political secretary to the Chief Minister, Romeo Christopher Tegong, also received a RM50,000 worth of cheque for the construction of the new Tanjung Latap Methodist Iban Church besides another cheque of RM30,000 for the construction of the new Rantau Panjai Methodist Iban Church. — DayakDaily
