KUCHING, Nov 26: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) deputy president Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has hinted that John Ilus might defend his Bukit Semuja seat in the 12th Sarawak Election.

Uggah said John has performed well in serving his constituency by bringing development to the local community.

“We already have a representative (John) who is still young and has been working hard in carrying out his duties. His overall performance has been satisfactory.

“Therefore, I urge the local community in Bukit Semuja to give our support to him,” he said when officiating Agriculture Outreach Community Programme (AgriCOP) at Balai Raya Kampung Remun in Serian today.

However, Uggah said the final decision would only be announced by the party’s president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Nonetheless, he urged voters in Bukit Semuja to give their undivided support to the representative nominated by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) later.

Meanwhile, John when met by reporters after the function said, despite not knowing whether he would be fielded again in the coming State polls, the Bukit Semuja election machinery has been prepared since last year and he had done his best in serving his constituency.

“At this moment, we have mobilised our machinery at the grassroot levels where we have planned meetings and so on, in accordance with the strict Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOPs),” he said. — DayakDaily
