Uggah: Five districts registering downward trend in infections, including longhouses

KUCHING, March 19: Sibu, Betong, Kuching, Bintulu and Kapit has shown a downward trend in the number of new Covid-19 cases for this week, said State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah, the same situation are also seen in the number of cases involving longhouses throughout the state.

“Similarly, the same situation were also shown in the (affected) longhouses throughout the state, which shown a declining trends,” he said.

Uggah said this during the State Covid-19 development press conference, held in the old State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building in Petra Jaya, today.

On the same note, the Deputy Chief Minister said during the same period, a total of 320 longhouses in the state has been put under lock down as an efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19.

According to Uggah, as of today, only 56 of the longhouses still remain under the lock down period and the rest was released from the lock down after not recording any new cases.

“The rest 264 longhouses was released from the lock down after it was found that the Covid-19 infection (in the affected longhouses) is under control,” he added. –DayakDaily.
