TYT, wife extend condolences to Long Lellang heli crash victims’ families

KUCHING, Sept 8: The Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi expressed their deep sorrow and sadness upon receiving news of the deaths of five individuals in a helicopter crash involving the Flying Doctor Service in Long Lellang, Baram, today.

In a statement, they conveyed their condolences and sympathies to the families and loved ones of the five victims.

“Their loss is deeply felt, particularly as four of the victims were healthcare personnel carrying out their duty to deliver healthcare services to communities in the interior of Sarawak.

“Indeed, the work they carried out through the Flying Doctor Service was of immense value to the people of Sarawak, especially those in rural and interior areas who depend on the service to access medical treatment and healthcare.

“Their sacrifices and dedicated service will always be remembered. They lost their lives while carrying out their responsibilities and duties to help and serve communities in need,” said the statement.

They also prayed that all the victims’ families would be granted strength, fortitude, and patience in facing the loss of their loved ones.

At the same time, they also expressed their appreciation to all security personnel, Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) teams, healthcare workers, authorities, and members of the local community involved in operations at the scene. — DayakDaily
