MIRI, Jan 24: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib visited a number of prominent Sarawakians in Miri on the third day of Chinese New Year.
Upon arrival, Taib, Raghad and their entourage visited Samling Group founder Tan Sri Yaw Teck Seng at the latter’s residence at Jalan Bandaraya here around 2.55pm.
Taib and his entourage was greeted by Yaw and his family as well as a lion dance troupe.
The entourage included Minister of Transport Sarawak Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, Deputy Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Development I (Women and Childhood Development) Datuk Rosey Yunus and Miri Resident Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf.
The entourage was also scheduled to stop by Lee’s residence at Jalan Tanjong and for dinner with Shin Yang Group founder Tan Sri Ling Chiong Ho. — DayakDaily
