KUCHING, Sept 23: Head of the State (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has called for relevant agencies to expedite assistance to 156 victims from Kampung Hilir Sibu who lost their houses to a fire recently.
In a statement today, Wan Junaidi said that both he and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, hoped that the assistance would help reduce the burden on the victims and provide what is necessary.
“My wife and I would like to express our sympathy to all the families of the victims in Kampung Hilir, Sibu, where their houses were destroyed by fire yesterday evening and lost property that cannot be valued in money and ringgit alone,” he said.
Yesterday (Sept 22), a fire razed 15 houses in Kampung Hilir, Sibu, leaving about 150 residents homeless. — DayakDaily
