KUCHING, July 6: Two 19-year-old men were killed in an accident at Jalan Kuala Baram Bypass in Miri in the early hours of this morning.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 2.30am, and firefighters from the Lopeng station, assisted by those from the Lutong station, were deployed.
Upon arrival, it was noted that the accident involved a Proton Saga, which crashed into a tree by the roadside with both victims still trapped in the vehicle.
The victims were identified as Roquell Brain Roland and Slyvester Ribai Tuah.
An operation was carried out to extricate the victims, who were later pronounced dead by Health Ministry personnel at the scene.
Their remains were then handed over to the police for further action.
The operation ended at 3.29am. — DayakDaily
