BINTULU, Oct 15: Two passengers were seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident along Jalan Bintulu-Miri, near Kampung Padang Batu early this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Bintulu received the emergency call at 6.03am, and a team of firefighters was immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the operation commander confirmed that a Toyota Hilux carrying four passengers had crashed by the roadside.
A 29-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man sustained serious injuries, while the other two passengers suffered minor injuries.
Firefighters used rescue tools to pry open parts of the vehicle and successfully extricated the seriously injured victims, who were then handed over to medical officers at the scene for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the other two victims had already been taken to the hospital by members of the public before the Bomba team’s arrival. — DayakDaily
