KUCHING, Nov 25: Two Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects in Taman Rekreasi Lorong 5C, of Taman Siang Siang in Miri expected to be completed by Dec 19.

According to a report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, State Tourism, Arts and Culture Assistant Minister Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew said work on the two projects started on Oct 20.

“The projects comprise the construction of a rest facility with roof worth RM80,000, and a pedestrian walkway project, including the construction of a new 128-metre long fence worth RM60,000,” he said when visiting the work site on Tuesday (Nov 23).

Ting noted the projects were slightly delayed, but the contractor has said that they will be completed within the stipulated period.

“I was informed that the contractor is waiting for construction materials which are expected to arrive soon,” he added.

He hoped that both projects would provide convenience and comfort to the public undertaking recreational activities in the area. — DayakDaily
