Two people dies after vehicle plunges into 60m-deep ravine

KAPIT, Nov 13: Two people were killed when the four-wheel-drive vehicle they were travelling in plunged into a 60m-deep ravine here today.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, in a statement, said they received a distressed call at 4pm, that a vehicle had went over the cliff along KM1, Jiwa Murni road, in Mujong.

The vehicle was carrying four passengers.

Two male adults survived the crash, while the two other victims, a man in his 40s and one female adult in her 30s, were pronounced dead by medical officers at site.

Firefighters had to use the pulley and rope system to climb down the steep cliff of about 75 degrees in order to bring the victims and survivors up one by one. — DayakDaily
