Two men without underlying health conditions among 8 Covid-19 fatalities recorded between Oct 14 and Nov 15 in Sarawak

KUCHING, Nov 17: A middle aged man from Betong and an elderly man from Kuching who were without underlying health conditions were among eight Covid-19 fatalities confirmed in Sarawak between Oct 14 and Nov 15.

This thus brings the Covid-19 death toll in Sarawak to 1,542 as of Nov 17.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily update on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak, reported that the 55-year-old man from Betong passed away in Betong Hospital on Nov 12, while the 77-year-old man from Kuching passed away in Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) on Nov 15.


Among the remaining six cases, Sri Aman Hospital recorded one death involving a 74-year-old man on Oct 14.

On Nov 11, two deaths were recorded with one case each in Sri Aman Hospital and Betong Hospital. The deceased were a 73-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman respectively.

Betong Hospital also reported one more death on Nov 12 involving a 72-year-old woman.

On Nov 12, two more fatalities were reported in Sri Aman Hospital involving an 86-year-old man and in SGH involving a 64-year-old man from Kuching.

Most of the deceased had multiple morbidities including hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia, apart from more severe diseases likes heart problems. — DayakDaily
