TATAU, June 27: Two individuals sustained burn injuries after a fire engulfed a row of nine wooden houses at Jalan Tatau Sangan shortly after midnight, also destroying three motorcycles and 10 cars parked nearby.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Tatau, firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 12.56am following an emergency alert.
A 26-year-old man suffered burns to his left hand and back, while a 27-year-old woman sustained burns on her left hand.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the blaze still raging through the structures. The operation commander promptly instructed the team to carry out firefighting efforts using the RECEO (Rescue, Exposure, Confine, Extinguish, Overhaul) technique.
Two hoses were deployed from the fire engine and nearby hydrants to suppress the flames.
Firefighters also conducted cooling operations around the affected area to prevent the fire from spreading further.
The entire row of nine houses, along with three motorcycles and 10 vehicles, was completely destroyed.
The operation concluded after firefighters confirmed there were no remaining sources of ignition and the site was declared safe. — DayakDaily
