KUCHING, June 15: A driver found himself trapped after he lost control of his car and it landed turtle inside a drain along Jalan Pantu, Simanggang last night.
The driver was forced to break a car window to prevent himself from drowning while waiting for help.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) deployed a team to the scene immediately after receiving the emergency call at 11.33pm.
According to the Bomba report, the police, People’s Volunteer’s Corps (Rela) and ambulance personnel were at the scene. A passenger in the car who had minor injuries, was able to exit the car himself while the driver was trapped inside it.
Firefighters managed to successfully extract the trapped driver.
Both the driver and passenger had minor injuries and were sent to a clinic for treatment. — DayakDaily
