Two Indonesians on the loose among three Covid-19 cases

KUCHING, Dec 27: Two Indonesian males who were reported to be Covid-19 positive have gone missing in Sarawak.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said Cases 1,107 and 1,108 were brought for swabs by their employer on Dec 21 and they have yet to be found ever since their disappearance after the tests.


However, the committee assured that investigations are being conducted by Sarawak Health Department and the State Security and Enforcement Unit while active contact detection (ACD) is being widely carried out.

Similarly an Indonesian male, Case 1,106 in Kuching was found positive too before reporting to work in the city.

With three new cases for the day, the cumulative number of cases in the state now stands at 1,108.

SDMC also reported zero new recovery who has been discharged from Sarawak General Hospital, thus the cumulative number of Covid-19 recoveries in Sarawak remains at 1,062 or 95.85 per cent of total recoveries.

“Today, there are four new person-under-investigation (PUI) cases and zero cases awaiting laboratory test results,” it added.

It also said that there were 303 person-under-surveillance (PUS) who were registered into various hotels across Sarawak to be quarantined.

There is now a total of 3,848 individuals under quarantine in 42 hotels throughout Sarawak while 44,766 PUS have completed their quarantine. — DayakDaily
