Two Indonesians among four nabbed in drug raids

MIRI, July 12: Two Indonesians were among four people arrested by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) for drug involvement in three separate raids yesterday.

The four individuals, aged between late 20s and early 30s, were picked up for suspicion of drug abuse and being drug pushers.


The operations, which started at 6am in Batu Niah, ended around noon.

“The two Indonesians were picked up in Batu Niah, while the other two individuals, both locals, were detained in Taman Tunku and an entertainment outlet at Pelita Commercial Centre respectively.

“All the suspects are currently put under custody at Miri Central Police Station for questioning,” a source said when contacted.

The case is being investigated under Section 12 of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, for drug possession. — DayakDaily
